Review - MaxFactor False Lash Effect Mascara

So i've had this mascara about a month now, and its definitely one of the best purchases i've made in a long time.
To me, it's the british equivalent of CoverGirl LashBlast - which i got a few months back from eBay and i absolutely LOVED.

The packaging of this mascara is pretty similar to the LashBlast as well. Although its black, its quite fat. This is one thing that i didn't like about this mascara as it takes up a lot of much-needed room in my make up bag.

The brush also, is pretty massive. Its bristles, however are very short and thin, again similar to the LashBlast. The big brush makes it pretty impossible for people with shorter lashes to apply this without somehow getting it everywhere, but lucky for me my lashes are pretty long so i'm alright on that front.

The formula is reasonably thick, but not to the point where it becomes gloopy, and glossy. AND it doesnt clump. ever. I have it in the shade "black", and it is very dark and dramatic, which i love. This keeps it true to its name, as it makes it look like im wearing false lashes. However, on days where i'm keeping the look more neutral and fresh, i don't like to wear this mascara, just because it makes my lashes so thick and dark that it can be too overpowering, especially day to day.

To be honest, i don't find a difference between the number of layers i put on. The effect is automatic straight away, and i find there is no need to reapply during the day. I don't find any flaking throughout the day, and my eyes remain smudge free. I wear contacts, so i have to be careful with eye makeup, especially mascara and eyeliner as it tends to dry out my eyes, and i find it does dry them out a little, but not unbearably.

It is also very easy to remove, i have the regular kind, not the waterproof, and not only does it come off with a few swipes of a makeup wipe, but it also comes cleanly off when in the shower, so i'm not left with black lines streaming down my face.

So, all in all, i rate this product 9/10, only marking it down because of its annoyingly big packaging.
(Price about £12)
